Title: Strangely Warmed
'Pious claptrap and hand-wringing sactimonious drivel. If that is what you are expecting you are going to be sadly disappointed. These meditations from a parish priest are witty, erudite, self-deprecating, eloquent and thoughtful. They are even quite short. Strangely Warmed? Yes, actually, I was.' - IAN HISLOP

'Strangely Warmed' is a collection of short pieces which take a wry look at the world and reflect on questions of faith that arise from the everyday. The advertising slogan, the church jumble sale, the Routemaster bus: all can unexpectedly bring us closer to God.Â
Andrew Rumsey is Vicar of Gipsy Hill. He is a contributor to Third Way magazine and a columnist for the website Ship of Fools:Â www.ship-of-fools.com.
I heartily recommend 'Strangley Warmed'. Although it has some 40 short articles – one for each day of Lent – I found the book so amusing and insightful that I read several days worth at a time. Andrew is a laugh a minute, and very spiritual with it. Hard to believe? Look and see.Â
You can order a copy direct from Amazon.co.uk for £5.99 inc delivery. Good value. Enjoy it. But read it alone: Andrew admits that you'd be hard pressed to use his book in a Lenten group!
